This visa permits stays of up to six months but does not offer a path to permanent settlement in the UK. Each person applying, even when travelling as part of a group, must submit a separate application.
To obtain a Standard Visitor Visa, you must meet the criteria set out by UK Visas and Immigration, including the following:
You are a national of a country that requires a visa to enter the UK and must apply in advance.
You intend to enter the UK for reasons permitted under the visitor visa category.
You are a genuine visitor with no intention of carrying out any prohibited activities.
You have sufficient personal funds to support yourself during your trip, including accommodation and travel, without needing to work or claim public funds.
You plan to leave the UK at the end of your visit.
You do not intend to use repeated visits as a way to live in the UK long-term or make it your primary residence.
Your application does not fall within the general grounds for refusal under UK immigration law .

Typically, visitor visa applications are processed within 3 weeks when applied from outside the UK.

The visa is available in multiple durations: 6 months, 2 years, 5 years, or 10 years. All versions generally allow multiple entries unless limited to single or double entry. Each visit must not exceed six months. The application fees are:
